Subluxation

January 6th, 2009

Yet another idea to ponder.

This is a picture of the Earth’s electro magnetic field; it protects the Earth from solar winds. Scientists say that there is a “crack” in this shield that will allow these storms to penetrate the Earth’s atmosphere in 2012. (http://www.crystalinks.com/earthsmagneticfield.html)

The heart’s electromagnetic field is the most powerful electromagnetic field produced by the human body. (http://www.heartmath.org/research/research-science-of-the-heart.html)

More and more people are developing  sensitivities to environmental electromagnetic fields. Nikolai Tesla, the father of electrical engineering, was the first well documented case. It is interesting to note that many people with exposure to various chemical toxins develop multiple sensitivities or allergies. The electromagnetic signature can sensitize a person so that future exposure to minute concentrations will trigger a reaction in one or more of the body’s regulatory systems.

The primary source of electricity in the body is the heart.  Conductors that give rise to the electromagnetic field in the body are the large blood vessels, muscles, connective tissues and the spine. The vertebral column and connective tissue form an electronic circuit of connecting coils set in a series parallel arrangement. Any displacement or subluxation from this arrangement will cause magnetic instability through the system and reduce the overall field. Much like the field in the first picture that is set to allow solar winds in to disrupt the earth.

Trauma, Toxins and Thoughts

December 23rd, 2008

The three causes of vertebral subluxation are trauma, toxins and thoughts. Most people come to the chiropractor a week or two after waking up with some kind of neck or back pain that just showed up mysteriously. When questioned, many of these new patients can recall an old sports injury, car accidents, stressful situations or over indulgent behavior at the buffet. Almost always a comment will emerge from the patient like this “I think its a muscle spasm” or “I think its my pillow.” In essence the problem or cause is misunderstood with regard to the nature of its origin. I don’t assume that everyone understands trauma mainly because many health care providers with extensive background in anatomy and physiology don’t seem to have a complete grasp on the subject. Trauma can be caused by sudden forceful impact, like a car accident or slow repetitive stresses, like typing. The body responds with scar tissue, inflammation, muscle spasm and pain. Sadly, scar tissue will not go away with an anti inflammatory, narcotics or muscle relaxers. Toxins come in many forms; medicine, poor nutrition, pollution and viruses. Sadly, most of this type of toxin does not respond to antibiotics.  The most important of the “Three T’s” is thoughts. That’s right, a person’s response to stress. Vibrant heath comes when a person aligns themselves with mental soundness and a positive attitude. When a person is in a chronic state of resentment, self pity, jealousy, fear, hostility and anxiety ill health and weakness follows.  Right about now you’re probably asking “how does popping my back help any of this 3 T stuff?” Well in a brief and concise explanation here goes; In an attempt to protect itself, think startle response, the body will lock down in preparation to respond to any of these stresses. When a joint does not move in its proper range of motion, kinesiopathology, the sequela are more than just pain. This kinesiopathology causes changes in the nervous system. There are three main problems that will occur in the nervous system, neuropathology. The first problem that i will discuss is pressure on a nerve or “a pinched nerve.” This pressure or pinching will decrease the flow of nerve transmission; consequently, anything supplied by this nerve begins to atrophy. The second problem is called facilitation, this occurs with traction or tethering of a nerve and causes anything supplied by this nerve to become hyperactive. The third problem is a decreased firing of joint proprioceptors. Joint proprioceptors detect joint position and send information to the cerebellum to be translated and interpreted to maintain balance, posture and tone. The kinesiopatholgy causes neuropathology which then results in myopathology; muscle spasm or atrophy. In response to spasm/atrophy and the resulting bio-mechanical insult as the person continues with activities of daily living, inflammation sets in and scar tissue proliferates as swelling increases, histopathology. The consequence of untreated kinesiopathology, nueropathology, myopathology and histopathology is pathophysiology or in this case degeneration. To slow the degeneration and begin to reverse these problems one has to restore motion; hence, the Chiropractic adjustment. While it is up to the patient to remove the toxic overload and improve the attitude, the Chiropractor is well suited to make suggestions on how to begin making changes in behavior.

B.J. Palmer on Chiropractic

December 7th, 2008

A slip on the snowy sidewalk in winter is a small thing. It happens to millions. A fall from a ladder in the summer is a small thing. It also happens to millions. The slip or fall produces a subluxation. The subluxation is a small thing. The subluxation produces pressure on a nerve. That pressure is a small thing. That decreased flowing produces a dis-eased body and brain. That is a big thing to that man.

Multiply that sick man by a thousand, and you control the physical mental welfare of a city. Multiply that man by one hundred thirty million, and you forecast and can prophesy the physical and mental status of a nation. So the slip or fall, the subluxation, pressure, flow of mental images and dis-ease are big enough to control the thoughts and actions of a nation.

Now comes a man. And one man is a small thing. This man gives an adjustment. The adjustment is a small thing. The adjustment replaces the subluxation. That is a small thing. The adjusted subluxation releases pressure upon nerves. That is a small thing. The released pressure restores health to a man. This is a big thing to that man.

Multiply that well man by a thousand, and you step up the physical and mental welfare of a city. Multiply that well man by a million, and you increase the efficiency of a state. Multiply that well man by a hundred thirty million, and you have produced a healthy, wealthy, and better race for posterity. So, the adjustment of the subluxation to release pressure upon nerves, to restore mental impulse flow, to restore health, is big enough to rebuild the thoughts and actions of the world.

The idea that knows the cause, that can correct the cause of dis-ease, is one of the biggest ideas known. Without it, nations fall; with it, nations rise.

This idea is the biggest I know of.
